Hudson Keown (pronounced "KEE-own") is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer, arranger and composer based in Southern California. His debut album Giraffes Are People Too was recorded and produced at Harmony Studios in Anaheim. Written across Keown’s teenage years, this blend of classic and modern elements of rock, acoustic pop, jazz, and r&b takes you along a timeless road traveled by everyone who has ever felt rejection, infatuation, love, and loss.
His next project, a self-produced EP titled Self-Mastered, tells a different story—one of perseverance. It also tackles more modern genres, delving primarily into synth pop and modern r&b.
In 2023, Keown furthered his exploration into these genres with his most recent release: Heartbreak Expansion Pack. The EP features grand, energetic arrangements juxtaposed with mostly somber lyrics, illustrating the many waves of veiled angst, deflection, and longing that crash within the ocean of heartbreak.
Keown has also collaborated with theatre company See Humans to compose music and lyrics for several musical productions, most notably A Fairly Odd Musical: the Unauthorized Parody, which was entirely composed by Keown. A Fairly Odd Musical has had runs in Boston, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, and off-Broadway in Times Square.
And then there’s "Soak City (feat. Nick)," a summer rap single about a waterpark. It has nothing to do with his previous or future work.
