Songs for a Dupont Café is a collection of homemade tracks recorded at Hughes’ homestead throughout 2002. Song production varies due to Hughes trying a variety of home PC recording plugins and software in search of a version of recording perfection. One of the tracks, “If Not Now, Then When,” was guest produced by Paul Gonzalez who added some interesting layers broadening out the overall sound of the song. However, most of the album is raw with Hughes’ amazingly intricate guitar riffs serving as a foundation for Dixon’s lyrics and melodies interwoven to create each song.
