Hugo S. Simões hails from a small island along the Mid-Atlantic ridge and came up through gigging around the Lisbon folk scene, sharing his songs one basement at a time. His solo work balances warmth, grit, and quiet intensity, with lyrics that merge traditional themes with his background as a poet and writer.
In June 2025 he released his first single, To Keep Away the Blues, and soon there will be more to come both from him and his band project, Hugo and the Bad Jujus.
