Humble He is the pseudonym of UK-based indie/folk songwriter, Joe Morrell. Typically, songs are composed with just a guitar and vocal, with a focus on thoughtful chord progressions and searching melodies. Very much influenced by the likes of Nick Drake, John Martyn and Elliott Smith - and this is often how they are performed live. Otherwise, performances may be accompanied by a band, or more commonly alongside backing vocalist Alexis Pretorius. A number of EPs and singles have been released over the years, pursuing a fleshed out, full-band sound. Now in 2023, we're awaiting the release of new music more akin to the latest single "Bye-Bye", which promises to be more intimate, raw and honest than ever.
