After receiving continued acclaim for his work with rising songstress Zanillya, Amsterdam’s long time producer and collaborator Humphrey Dennis unveiled his debut EP ”Carlo" in April – an infectious instrumental release acting as the perfect introduction to his creative diversity and distinctive sound.
Having taken the time to perfect his craft and using his life experience as inspiration in the process, the emerging producer with Surinamese roots has amassed support from key taste-makers and radio alike for his work on Zanillya’s “For You”, “In It 4 A Lifetime”, and this year’s EP “Choose Life” (1XTRA, WONDERLAND, LONDON IN STEREO, HUNGER, CLASH, MTV).
In 2021 due to a challenge he gave himself, he started working on his debut EP 'Carlo'. The record is named after his father and is a dedication to him, his beauty and his imperfections. With Humphrey’s ability to draw upon his musical upbringing and create his own signature sound, record embodies the seamlessness in working with chopped vocals and a hybrid of samples, all whilst exploring the topic of self-love - displaying his influences and love for genres of Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Grime, South American flavors, Afro-fusion and smooth RnB throughout. The result is an EP packed with a punch and high levels of depth and inventiveness.
