Humrush was formed in Kristiansand, Norway by brothers Torkjel Austad (keyboards/samples) and Halvard Helle (guitars). They were later joined by Klaus Blomvik (drums), Roger Williamsen (double bass) and Tine Wulff (vocals) to do concerts. The live shows set the standard for the sound of Humrush, which is a blend of analog and digital instruments. Their legendary debut Turbotape EP was only released on vinyl, but has in the later years received increased interest among DJs in London and elsewhere. June 2020 it became available on all digital platforms.
In July 2020 Humrush also released the music video for the song Sugarpop, directed by Per Sveinung Larsen.
In January 2022 Humrush released the single What you dream of (feat. <a href="spotify:artist:3KwfPMspVY0W2KRZLJqfWW" data-name="Thom Hell">Thom Hell</a> & <a href="spotify:artist:7rqE3Jh3f8flwRm3fKIEb7" data-name="Salvador Sanchez">Salvador Sanchez</a>).
