Husino

Husino is a 2 person group, founded as a solo hip hop project by Nick McElmurry. The group combines live instruments and heavy rock undertones into their hip hop, similar to Flobots or Aesop Rock. Both Nick and Michael Hoffman (backup vocalist, guitarist, producer) have their roots in indie-rock. Formerly members of Water Color Weekend and numerous other indie bands, they fell in love with the idea of playing music for a career. Nick decided to get into hip hop due to his love and skill for slam poetry.

Influenced heavily by Aesop Rock, Husino writes with a vigorous attention to alliteration, assonance and other literary techniques that contribute to the overall flow of the rap.

Nick McElmurry, self-proclaimed Determinist and Utilitarian, fell in love with music at age 10. He plays trombone, guitar, piano, and bass for this projects along with lead hip hop vocals and many singing vocals. Nick's background lies heavily in indie-rock and only began showing interest in hip hop after his CUPSI run in college. Nick and Michael met in school and have been great friends ever since. They've performed together in the indie-rock project Water Color Weekend.

Michael Hoffman, oks-logo, is a multi-instrumentalist whose talents range from vocals, guitar, violin, drums, bass, etc. Search for oks-logo on Spotify for Michael's solo music!
