Raised all over the United States-from Texas and Colorado to Virginia, the sibling trio, “Hwy’94” has struggled to answer the question: Where are you from? Everyone longs for a home, a place to claim and according to the three siblings: Aly Mae, Heidi, and Biggs-this was a genuine concern when trying to find their place in the Nashville country music scene. Do they associate themselves with the red dirt Texas crowd, the contemporary country sounds of Georgia, or even the Appalachian bluegrass scene of Virginia? Having a state to back you up or support you is an advantageous way to start a career in music. But when asked about the topic of moving, Heidi (vocals, guitar) answered that at the end of day she is satisfied with how they were raised. Whatever disadvantage they may have had from growing up without a home base is minuscule compared to the inspiration found growing up on the road. To this sibling trio, music isn’t about the name or the state of which an artist may be a microcosm, but the stories being told and the emotions appended to them. This is Hwy’94's goal and priority: crafting stories that are relatable to not just one town, state, or demographic, but to every human heart.
