Hydra Fashion Week is a “spiritual-hyper-punk” group from Naarm, Melbourne, led by Charlie Teitelbaum (HydrasHeads), founding member of AMP-Nominated electronic three-piece Huntly, and features prolific instrumentalists Matt Roche (Soft Power), Jasper Evans (Eaglemont) and Em Chen (Cry Club, Erin Will Be Mad).
The collective have built a strong reputation for themselves with their “indescribable and unbelievable” (themusic.com.au) live shows and unique sound with Abby Butler (Triple J Unearthed) writing “HFW is up there as one of the most exciting live acts in the Melb live scene.” This electric live chemistry has earned them support slots on national tours for the likes of Full Flower Moon Band, Cry Club & Party Dozen.
Their 2024 debut “Serpent Season One” engages in some epic world-building with an eclectic mix of songs that fuse elements of no-wave, improvised jazz, hyper-pop and drum&bass. The record earned them accolades such as FBi and SYN FM's "Independent Artist of the Week", features & interview in The Guardian, Pilerats, NME, Mixown Magazine, The Music, Rage’s “Wild One” music video of the week, features in Spotify & Apple Music editorial playlists and airplay on local stations such as Triple J, Triple R, PBS and 4ZZZ and internationals such as iconic US station KEXP.
The group celebrated the release with a sold out album launch show at the Curtin Hotel, and an Australian east coast tour that included dates at Long Jetty Festival,Bigsound and SXSW Sydney
