Hypersomnia is an electronic project by Colorado’s BB Poisin. Hooks layer on hooks to pull the listener into Poisin’s grooves, combining shadowy darkwave dance with tortured lyrics detailing Poisin’s personal life and past relationships, along with occasional inspiration from sci-fi and videogames. Poisin got their start as a guitarist in multiple Denver punk bands before moving into the electro-industrial territory. Their live-shows are a rare occurrence for the lucky fan to catch, each a unique experience showing drastic growth from the last.
2025 saw such growth for the project with an EP of demos preceding their full, fleshed out record [Daemones]://demise.reload. The album took much of the creations Poisin had already been working on, and even performing, to new heights. With an emphasis on electronics and vocal deliveries, these songs became the crème de la crème of their career. A successful release show was held alongside other dark local acts in Colorado Springs on August 12th, at which Poisin performed the majority of the new record and interacted with fans, proving that Hypersomnia creates music not just to dance to, but also to connect with.
