Born to Nigerian refugees and raised in Houston, iAMLYRIC is a first-generation American whose work is shaped by heritage, migration, and the spaces she has learned to call home. The resilience and pride of the Igbo people, the honesty, warmth, and grit of the South, and the fearless creative experimentation of Los Angeles, where she now resides, each left an imprint on her artistic perspective, forming the foundation for a voice that is both deeply her own and universally resonant.

A multidisciplinary artist, iAMLYRIC tells stories through music, film, poetry, and visual art, using each medium as a way to document her truth and translate emotion. “I rap the blues,” she says — a phrase that captures the spirit of her existence. Her art is not about escape but expression; each record shares perspective on the world as she’s experienced it and pushes to give words to the parts of life that often defy explanation.

Her raw authenticity caught the attention of Terrence “Punch” Henderson, president of Top Dawg Entertainment, who saw in her an artist with purpose and depth. Invited into A Room Full of Mirrors, the creative collective he founded, she found a space that mirrors her own values — lyricism, storytelling, and community. Surrounded by artists who challenge and inspire her, she continues to expand her vision, pushing past her limits while defining and redefining what her art can hold.
