M.I.C is a first generation American– hailing from Kenya and Zimbabwe. Raised in the
DMV, an area known for its ethnic diversity, his musical identity was shaped by the
cultural art scene around him. Growing up in a household that embraced creativity,
nurtured his ability to grow as an artist.

“My parents exposed me to many powerful influences. I listened to Lucky Dube, Bob
Marley, Miriam Makeba, Wynton Marsalis, Michael Jackson, James Brown and the list
goes on. That molded my musical range.”

M.I.C earned his early stages of exposure in the industry with several singles in the early
2010s. The locality was abuzz with the budding artist’s accomplishments, and soon
enough, he became a local household name. Landing a feature on Fox5 News led him to
perform at some of DC’s finest institutions, including EchoStage, Howard Theater, U
Street Music Hall, and other venues up and down the east coast.

He released his first project “The ColorPurple'' in 2018. With the momentum of that
release, followed 2020’s “Heartbreak and Money” with singles “Heartbreak” and
“Lowkey” taking the lead.

The second part in a three part trilogy, the upcoming “Love and Money'', is set to be
released February 2023.

M.I.C’s music creates an avenue for people to feel and express themselves freely.
Listeners can look forward to many more creative endeavors in the near future.
