Hello random stranger and or person I know, I grew up in a small midwestern town called Farmington IL. And yes, it's as rural as it sounds, the school is literally surrounded by cornfields haha. When I was 5 years old my mom put me and my brother in piano lessons. She heard somewhere that learning piano can make you better at math... it didn't work for me apparently. After hating it for the first 5 years, I discovered a love for songwriting at age 10. Instead of practicing my boring sheet music, I would just spend hours noodling around until I created something cool. This taught me that music can be more than robotically playing someone else's creations, I can create my own things. In my late high school years, I came across The Lumineers and was instantly hooked on folk music. That inspired me to write folk songs, and the rest is history. Since then, I learned how to write lyrical songs, produce, sing, and play guitar all in hopes of one day seeing my music hobby turn into a career. I've been so inspired by secular folk artists like The Lumineers, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Paper Kites, The Head And The Heart, Hollow Coves, Of Monsters and Men, Vance Joy and it is my desire to make Christian music in the same vein as these guys. Also, my music production client turned wife, Heather Suzanne too makes epic folk music! Oh, and speaking of music production, I started a music production company with my friends William Toll and Haddon called Indie Roots Productions.
