My name is Ian.
I am a dad, husband, teacher, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, singer, sound engineer, builder of Legos, frontman of All Night Thing, former founding member of Vaeda.
I write music about my reality. My perspective in one in eight billion. Yours is, too.
In my music, I try to express what it feels like to be a spiritual being having a human experience. It's my belief that we are all such spiritual beings - all having human experiences - but most of the time we forget that these bodies we inhabit are just vessels - vessels that get distracted by material things. We are meant for more than that - we are meant to connect to each other on a deeper level, and we are meant to remember that we all come from a singular source.
Therefore, a lot of my music is about the times when I forgot that I was such a being; I got caught up in the humanity, and forgot to wake up. Those times were often painful. Thank God I forget a lot less these days. These days, I try to stay in the light, not in the shadows. I hope my music gives you a chance to reflect on your own journey towards that light. Thanks for listening.
