Iccaro Bass Cavalera (ee-kah-roh/ɪkəroʊ), is an independent musician, multi-instrumentalist, writer, composer and producer from the vibrant streets of São Paulo, Brazil.
Born in 2002 into a family deeply ingrained into music and culture, from an exceptionally early age he took interest in music and compositions. From attending some of the biggest music festivals and inspiring musical concerts from as young as 5 years old, he quickly became infatuated with the art of melody and performance. Experiencing and converging such agitation, his art developed into a blend of his extensive and eclectic musical credentials.
Reflected in his compositions is a wide scope of virtuosity ranging from soft, subdued, romantic and intimate all the way to heavy, ferocious, energetic and visceral music.
His first release, "The Tales of Gaspar & Allison", is a concept album which entrances the listener into a romantically tragic journey. Exploring complex lyrical themes of love, passion, devotion, obsession, agony, demise and death; along with a captivating and spellbinding instrumental atmosphere, the album engulfs like an incendiary incantation.
Written, conceptualized, performed, produced and recorded in his bedroom with few equipments and software, the album features a do-it-yourself attitude, symbiotic with a striking grand sonority.
In the record, Iccaro sings, plays the electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, piano, synthesizer, organ, accordion and berimbau.
