Inspired by strong female icons who changed the world throughout history, Ida Red is a new Danish act creating a unique world of their own. Mixing their own distinct take on synth pop with moving stories about each others lives and their closely connected friendship, the three singers, songwriters and producers, Greta Schenk, Nanna Bottos and Nanna Hovgaard are influenced by their very different backgrounds both musically - from Gospel to Indie rock - and geographically - Denmark and Germany.
“We wrote ‘Oh Girl’ by the pool side on a writing trip to France last year. Writing about how friendships heal us when we feel lost was natural as we felt very close and were all going through some stuff at that time. We simply wrote it as an anthem to all the great friendships out there. And all the great women we know.”
