IDLE DEATH is a blackened sludge metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that joins searing riffs and dramatic dynamics with aggressive vocals to deliver a bleak musical vision of our shared future.
Formed amidst the unyielding pandemic and never-ending gloom of a Minnesota winter, Idle Death recorded their debut EP <a href="spotify:album:2BADeJp2uYH3QqsBCFM643" data-name="Year Of Dread (Demo)">Year Of Dread (Demo)</a> in the fall of 2021 and released it in early 2022. The band's music and lyrics capture the essence of isolation and societal unease experienced by so many - no prescription is offered, only the temporary solace of aggressive musical expression.
We have, all of us, never been more alone. We are separated by our screens, idle in our actions, and we are each day one step closer to our end. If we don't work towards something, we are just waiting to die.
