Igimèjí

The story of Igimèjí, is one that is filled with love, adventure, and music. It all started in 2016, when Kayla Scales (vocals/keys) and Oladipo Oyediran (vocals/guitar) started seeing each other. Almost immediately, they started recording and writing music together as a way of communicating their love for each other. In 2017, the duo relocated to Kathmandu, Nepal, where they lived, worked, and continued to make music for a year. After receiving a positive response from the Nepali music community, the two globetrotters returned home to Dallas-Fort Worth and started performing at open mics. While finding their quirky RnB sound, they crafted diverse music ranging from oldies, to rock, to alternative works and collaborative hip hop with other local Artists in DFW like Chef Dee, Vyse and Ugly Luv. They currently fill out their sound as a band, create and perform with Jelen Farrow (Drums) and Aaron Payton (Bass). The band hopes to continue creating, writing, and performing music together while at the same time creating art in their independent projects.
