Ikal
IKAl (Michael Jacas) Root,Rock,Reggae,Dancehall artist was born on the island of Jamaica, West Indies. He is the first child of the union of his Jamaican mother and his father of Cuban descent. Ikal’s passion for music arose from his Rastafarian Religion, where musicians such as Bob Marley and Peter Tosh were his inspiration. He became increasingly active in the music industry. Ikal has worked with Island records and Taxi Productions. He eventually started his own original production company “Samora Music, LLC,” working with many popular artist as a songwriter, producer or manager for such artist as Jack Radics, Spanner Banner, Richie Spice and Chaka Demus & Pliers, to name a few.
After stepping away from the industry for a few years in late 2013, Ikal was contacted to consult on a project. After completion of this project he realized his passion for music was too strong to just do one project. He focused his efforts on his production company and developing new talent. However, during this new journey Ikal realized he possessed an untapped talent, he could sing. With the guidance and support of individuals such as well-known Reggae producer Robbie Shakespeare and International Recording Artist Jack Radics, Ikal started working on his debut album “Raid”.
Now the journey begins.
