Founded around 2018 on the fictional island of Orogami Corn, the Imaginary Band is led by the enigmatic Mac Roi Orgin, the alter ego of Marcio Nigro. With his extensive experience in the world of film scoring, Nigro brings a keen sense of storytelling and emotive depth to the band's music, allowing the songs to transcend mere sound and evoke a powerful range of emotions.
The Imaginary Band, a captivating musical endeavor helmed by the talented composer and producer Marcio Nigro, who plays most instruments (and also all musicians in the promotional videos), embraces a rich tapestry of musical influences to craft their unique sound. Rooted in the progressive rock tradition, the band seamlessly weaves together elements of hard rock, folk, metal, jazz, symphonic music, and even hints of Brazilian musical traditions.
While the progressive rock foundation is a cornerstone of their sound, the Imaginary Band pushes boundaries and incorporates diverse influences from various genres like Queen and The Beatles (known for their fearless experimentation and genre-blending approach. Adding further depth to their repertoire), metal bands and also influences from more radio-friendly artists such as Living Colour, Foo Fighters and Dave Matthews Band. These artists, known for their accessibility and infectious melodies, contribute to the band's ability to create catchy hooks and memorable choruses that resonate with a wide range of listeners.
