Imani Basquiat

Imani Basquiat is an Alternative Soul artist born and bred in Pretoria, South Africa, signed to independent record label, Forgotten Soul. Imani prides himself in being dynamic in sound, and fluent in experimentation. Through this he has created his own genre called Neo-Hop, a blend of the hypnotic sounds of Soul, Funk and R&B with a modern approach of alternative Hip hop, Indie and Pop which leaves his listeners with an irresistible nostalgic feel.

- Imani is an innovative young man who is always looking to push the boundary and go left when the world is going right. This pushed Imani to grow up as a multi disciplinary artist. He started dabbling with music in the late 2017's and took it all the way serious by mid 2019.

- He released his first offering titled Hooptie Music back in March '22 and his second offering titled INTERNET GIRL& in August '22 . Fast forward 2 months and he went on a single run for another 2 months. His latest offering “Groove Theory” and its remix EP “Groove Pack” is an undeniable universal hit and it is without a doubt that Imani Basquiat is bound to be a raoring hit sooner than later. He is definitely a musician worth listening to and keeping a close eye on.
