Immanuel Keen (Keen), born in Los Angeles, California, moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2004.
At age 9, Keen began writing music and performing for talent shows. In high school, Keen released 3 mixtapes: My Indiscretion, Forbidden Lyricist, and The Kountdown.
In 2012, Keen began to make connections in the industry and built a relationship with Def Jam A&R, Tamra Simmons. Describing Keen, Simmons said, “He has a great talent. If he continues to grind with the drive that he has and expand his fan-base, something is bound to happen!” In 2014, Simmons assisted with the release of his 4th project, Keen Epiphany.
In 2016, Keen released his hit single “Bandz” for his mixtape Chapter 7. After college, Keen moved back to LA and released Golden State of Mind, which narrated his transition from Florida to California. After this release, Keen began to build a social media following. Using Instagram and TikTok, he capitalized on his buzz by remixing hit songs by popular artists. City Girls member JT noticed his remix of their song “Pussy Talk” and shared it with praises.
Since then, Keen dropped his hit single "The Key To A Healthy Relationship" which acquired over 12M views on Tik Tok and over 1 million streams on Spotify. This song attracted the attention of many popular influencers including the rap battle legend "Tsu Surf" who posted this song on his Instagram Story.
