IMP THA DON
Thapelo Maimela (born January 28, 1997) known professionally as IMP THA DON, is a South African rapper, songwriter, and record producer born in Mafikeng, North West but was raised in Pretoria, Gauteng.
His rise to fame began on the soul and jazz influenced record “ A REAL NIGGA TALE” by childhood friend A-Reece , which depicts a crew of hardcore rappers, showing off their rap skills in an old school and yet totally brand new fashion.
In 2018 he released a single entitled “Fuck The System” that would soon get him immense street credibility
Upon his single release, “The Don Of The West” went on to produce records on Mashbeatz’s first Album (Thanks For Nothing), A-reece’s “And Im Only 21” and had guest features on both projects respectfully. This resulted in him earning a buzz in the streets and him proving that ,he too can stand among the greats of hip hop.
As of late the young rapper features on Mashbeatz’s 2nd Offering “FIRE IN THE WATER” and has a number of production credits on there as well.
In 2021 ,Tha Don put out his longawaited debut mixtape titled “MONEY. POWER. RESPECT” ; which features quite a number of prominent artists. His latest release “CHAMPION SPIRIT: BANGERS BEFORE THA ALBUM” is an awesome prelude to The Dons Debut Album , which is currently in the works, coupled by singles and joint projects, we should be in for quite a feast.
