In heather formed in the close of 2022 in Manchester, and having evolved their psychedelic, grungy post-punk sound across years of live shows in and around the rainy city, are finally releasing their first EP, titled ‘Nothing Vicious’ on the 7th May.
Their sound, characterised by swathing and atmospheric guitars, melodic and groovy basslines, and chanting, rhythmic harmonies, has long hailed from the underground bars and venues of Manchester, but with the release of debut single, ‘Bad Luck Comes To Town’, the group hope to expand their listener base beyond the Pennines and make their mark on the current alternative-rock scene.
'Bad Luck Comes to Town', with its repetitive lyrics and doom-laden soundtrack, very much encapsulates the band's current sound. The track itself is about bad times, what some consider endless cycles of despair, but within such despair the will of spirit, encapsulated by bassist, Zaim Choudhury, as a lapdog.
In Heather, who are Arlo Cooper (guitar, vocals), George Comber (guitar, vocals), Josh Cooper (drums) and Zaim Choudhury (bass, vocals), are very excited to share this song with listeners of music and hope that if you like what you hear, you will come and find us playing some day.
