In The Rearview is the third musical project from Houston’s David Reyna, blending raw emotion, melodic grit, and a sharp ear for nostalgia. With a sound rooted in indie rock, alternative, and emo, the band channels the spirit of underground youth and emotional reckoning—drawing inspiration from genre-defining acts like Turnstile, The Jins, Mom Jeans, The Strokes, and Basement.
At the helm is David Reyna, a multi-instrumentalist on vocals, guitar, and keyboard, whose songwriting explores longing, memory, and quiet unrest. He’s joined by Gael Alvarado on lead guitar, layering shimmering chords with distorted chaos, while Iván Albares with intense drumming. Angel Morales glues it all together on bass, bringing subtle hooks and deep tone to the band’s emotional framework.
Their debut single, “Mire,” released in 2025, quickly caught attention in Houston’s underground scene for its dreamy textures and aching vocals. That momentum led them to co-headline Max-Star Fest 2025, solidifying their place in the city’s emerging alt-rock wave.
Poised between vulnerability and power, In The Rearview is more than a sound—it’s a reflection of youth in motion, and a look back that hits just as hard as what’s ahead.
For fans of crying in the shower, stagediving on a sprained ankle, or screaming along to a song you only heard once in 10th grade and never found again.
