A heavy music collective looming from Finland since 2021, In Thorns has been on a relentless search for a new and authentic way to experience sound—one that entombs sadness, nihilism, and the weight of the world.
In 2021, Aavee began confronting his personal struggles, and together the collective began shaping an album that would act as a catharsis for Aavee and would weave the traumas of the past into a cohesive whole. The result was The Last Bead on a Cord of Songs (2024). With themes drawn from lifelong battles with depression, thoughts of death, self-harm, and existential dread, the album offers a raw and harrowing sonic experience.
