Inara is a solo project or could be said as the alter ego of Menuk Hentiasanti who is currently one of the backing vocal for Maliq & D’Essentials. She is a Jakarta-based singer. Her first once-released EP on 2019 by the name of Menuk was a big start for her to write some more. She is also a vocalist in a band named Sequoia Projects, a Jakarta based-band.
Having influenced by Sheena Ringo, Ryuichi Sakamoto, she has broadened her knowledge about wide variety of music, from rock to jazz, as well as orchestration. As for jazz, the genre she loves the most, she listens a lot to Ella Fitzgerald, Monday Michiru, Astrud Gilberto, Silje Nergaard and some other female jazz singers.
Inara’s sound is basically pop with a hint of jazz and soul here and there, that hopefully can give listeners a warm personal touch by listening to it. Happy listening from Inara! 🌻
