Indigo Wild crafts nostalgia-driven indie rock, blending dream pop & midwest emo revival.
For nearly 8 years, the quintet toured the midwest and east coast, joining bills with <a href="spotify:artist:0YhUSm86okLWldQVwJkLlP" data-name="Bad Suns">Bad Suns</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:2X3rGYJyh8oBkRKMzIQaLe" data-name="Desert Noises">Desert Noises</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2xaAOVImG2O6lURwqperlD" data-name="Catfish and the Bottlemen">Catfish and the Bottlemen</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4fw9oPmbbmHW5aAJpkJdlI" data-name="Margot & The Nuclear So And So's">Margot & The Nuclear So And So's</a> . By 2015 Indigo Wild had landed bucket list sessions on <a href="spotify:artist:1j8QyWpOJKAe6Iw2KvEg2j" data-name="Audiotree">Audiotree</a> + Daytrotter and joined the lineup at Cincinnati’s Bunbury fest next to <a href="spotify:artist:5INjqkS1o8h1imAzPqGZBb" data-name="Tame Impala">Tame Impala</a> + <a href="spotify:artist:7mnBLXK823vNxN3UWB7Gfz" data-name="The Black Keys">The Black Keys</a>.
In early 2018 the band released their debut full-length Wonder Wander. Recorded by Jon Fintel at Relay Recording (<a href="spotify:artist:3yZV7kMGClXfw0xaPAlImS" data-name="Snarls">Snarls</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1LbK4g8mKezX7iAmpiq3sX" data-name="Clubhouse">Clubhouse</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3DJqcz8IhshYnm3iECSd6N" data-name="Way Yes">Way Yes</a>), the album is highlighted by intricate melodies, floating vocals, and wistful storytelling.
Following Wonder Wonder, a new wave of writing began, but quickly subsided with two members leaving hometown Columbus, Ohio. The group paused with a collection of ideas, some of which were roughly demoed. And then a pandemic hit…
But in late 2023, a spontaneous listen back on those demos revealed songs that were nearly finished. The band, now spread across multiple cities, was faced with the decision to put the demos back on the shelf or enter a new era of remote collaboration.
The group will release that finished collection of songs in early 2024—recorded with a simple 4-track interface and a handful of sm58’s. The release reinforces Indigo Wild’s newfound philosophy as they blend their same early 20's passion with newfound stability as adults—lean into the imperfections and don’t overthink it.
