Afro-Puerto Rican from Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Indra is the daughter of Jazz bassist, Don Moore (NY Contemporary Five) . She founded her band in 2009 while living in Denmark.

Her debut album, Indra, was nominated for a Danish Music Award in 2010 in the category “Best Jazz Vocal Album” . She then received this award for her second album In Between . The third album, Heartland (Impulse Records), was created with the help of producer Larry Klein in 2013; the single, Little Black Train, was number 1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts in Germany, France and Denmark. In 2016 she and her band won the BMW Welt Jazz Award . Her last album, Carry My Heart (Verve Records) was produced by Jay Newland (Norah Jones’ Come Away With Me) and also charted in the top 5 for Denmark, Germany and France.

Her latest project, “Where do we go from here?” is a project created for families who have shared the experience of hospice care. It was released in September 2024.
