iNsuRge were an Australian industrial rock band founded in 1994 by singer-songwriter-guitarist Chris Dubrow, along withh co-founders Monique Wakelin (samplers), Mattieu MacRoth (bass), Matt Richmond (drums), and Paul Bianco (found percussion). The band became known for their powerful live shows, utilising a cacophony of sampled noise and beats crossed with live drums, percussion, distorted guitars and minimalist melodies.

Dubrow's lyrics focused on progressive political themes such as global inequality, the damage caused by mainstream economic theory and global finance, third world debt, the environment, and the rise of renewable energy. For seven years they were claimed to be “the soundtrack of choice for angry progressive teenagers across the bedrooms of Australia”.

The band’s second EP, Political Prisoners, became the band’s radio breakthrough in 1995. The album Power to the Poison People followed in 1996, and the final album Globalisation was released in 2000.

The band toured Australia constantly including runs with Pop Will Eat Itself, White Zombie, Grinspoon, Nitocris, and Frenzal Rhomb, and participated in festivals such as Alternative Nation, Livid and Big Day Outs. Percussionists changed over time with Adam Logan, Miguel Valenzuela and Jan Sebastian, but eventually stabilised around Dubrow and Wakelin, with Daryl Sims on drums, Sean Burnett on percussion and Mark Avery on Bass. iNsuRge announced their break-up at Newtown Festival in Sydney 2000.
