Into the Presence is the duo of singer/guitarist Luis Maldonado and drummer Tim Alexander. Alexander, a veteran of the bands <a href="spotify:artist:64mPnRMMeudAet0E62ypkx">Primus</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4DFhHyjvGYa9wxdHUjtDkc">A Perfect Circle</a>, had known Maldonado, a California-based session musician whose credits include <a href="spotify:artist:7n3r1FC137xLzQd3P4WzPv">Pat Monahan</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:50FDiYHYqGJkaCuK4JhAYw">Glenn Hughes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2TPyCsRoh2tjeZLTQ2ojlj">John Waite</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2Omy3P5hFZym7FKum1JA1s">UFO</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4LoM3lMauQ540MW9QiyIcR">Anna Nalick</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0W36oDVidsOqEIAKUJV4dY">Michael Schenker</a>, for years, but it was not until he had purchased equipment for his home studio in Arizona while working on a solo project that he called Maldonado and proposed they make an album together.
