Irem Yildirim

İrem Yıldırım is a Turkish singer, songwriter & designer from Istanbul. She began her music career by listening to her brother playing the guitar all the time in the house, back in the early 2000's. He taught her how to play the guitar, in the basic level. Then she began learning playing the guitar professionally, followed by taking violin classes afterwards, quitted after realizing it was not as exciting for her. Then she wanted to take singing lessons, her parents weren't supportive at first because they thought it was just a whim and she'd quit after a month as usual... But she did continue for years, prepared for college for studying Jazz Music, then made a twist and went for Interior Design. (yes, she can be surprising like that) After years of playing with many other artists doing covers & singing at bars, she finally took a step ahead and started making her own music. Even tho she's now doing synth-pop, she is super excited about R&B, Neo Soul, Hip-hop & funky beats. She loves Tame Impala, Erykah Badu, Parcels, Fred Again, Snoh Aalegra & Drake a lot. She also likes to rave sometimes, fav electronic genre being melodic techno to all kinds of house music.
Fooling Myself is about a crush that she fell apart because of Covid, while she was in her hometown city Mersin in Turkey, he was in Netherlands back to his hometown.
