IRENE crafts raw and sensual Nordic art pop tunes. Having grown up in a small Finnish town in the Arctic area, she’s no stranger to stark extremes. IRENE’s music emerges from the silence of wilderness, infused with her light-filled melancholia.

IRENE released her debut single “Keep on Walking” along with a haunting music video: She burned her grand piano as a healing rite after a decade of studies with a sexually violent piano teacher.

IRENE is a trained pianist, who sat down at the piano at the age of five – and instantly felt at home in the realm of keys. The shadow of her abusive teacher haunted IRENE for years. But the day came when it was time to reclaim her voice as a performing artist, a skilled composer and a woman who has a lot to say.

IRENE writes, composes and co-produces all her music herself. As a Master of Arts in literature, she writes poetic lyrics full of layers. After residing in Paris and Amsterdam, she is back to her Nordic roots.

The Nordic Spotify playlists have given IRENE a warm welcome. Her singles have emerged on the list of Finland’s 50 most viral tracks. The Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle acclaims her music “ethereal, atmospheric and ambitious”.

IRENE’s creative philosophy is based on unrushed vision. Her full-length studio album SLOW BLOOM is released gradually during 2020-23. The third single "Wars Untold" is the official title track from the tv series "Untold Arctic Wars" (Yle, Svt, DR, NRK, National Geographic).
