Isa Leen is Rita Sampaio, a 28-year-old musician, composer, producer, and songwriter based in Braga (Portugal).
Her career starts in 2012, when she joined her brother, Tiago Sampaio, and both founded the band <a href="spotify:artist:68ke2Df0EklH123rpyyEBt" data-name="Grandfather's House">Grandfather's House</a>, with which she released one EP (Skeleton, 2014) and two LPs (Slow Move, 2016; Diving, 2017). The pop/rock band played multiple stages during their three European tours. Their tours also got them to the stages of Portuguese venues and festivals.
Now, we see it is the reign of Isa Leen. She is born from the same reason as Rita’s two other projects: the need to explore new sounds, new colors, and new landscapes towards a type of electronic music that floats between pop, grime, techno, and others. However, in this new endeavor, the artist truly sees herself shift. Isa Leen is no longer about healing, sorrow, heartbreak, or an autobiography in the shape of a record. She’s restless, political, and complex while also being trivial and simple on occasions.
Isa Leen is after the feeling of emancipation and autonomy since the first tracks that will be released are composed and produced by the artist herself, but also co-produced by the French producer and musician <a href="spotify:artist:5sklUmVcGNVgvolsoBzT26" data-name="Sebastien Forrester">Sebastien Forrester</a>. In June of 2023, she released her debut EP 'Warrior Angel', and almost 2 years later, 'Racing Minds' in collaboration with CoLD SToRAGE.
