Isabella Farmer is an indie folk artist and songwriter whose intimate and affecting storytelling captures listeners along with her smooth vocals, poetic lyricism and mellow, atmospheric guitar work. While she considers herself a Virginia native, she has been greatly inspired by her various travels as a child in which she found home in the patterns on pigeons in Bogota, or the waves lapping at a pebbled Michigan lake shore. While she writes about her own experiences with love, her first loves were the music of artists such as Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers, Arianne Lenker, and Sufjan Stevens as well as the poetry of Ada Limon, Ross Gay, and Pablo Neruda. Isabella is currently in the process of writing and recording new stories that she’s excited to share with you soon.
Isabella Farmer’s songs embody the artists need to recreate and preserve pieces of life laid out in front of them. She approaches this with careful wonder, poignant image, and a gentleness that can be overserved in her vocal delivery as well as her guitar strokes. She offers her listeners relatability, but also the space to lay their own experiences. She wants her listeners to know she’s there with them and if nothing else, provide little daydreams to sink into amidst the chaos of all our lives. Isabella Farmer urges us all to embrace the beautiful ache of being alive.
