Australian and Canadian, Isla Noir started creating songs on her childhood piano. What started out as teenage doleful pop, turned into her signature sound of cinematic soundscapes that surround her dark pop songs.
Embracing her Eurasian heritage, Isla's music balances between dark and light, electronic and cinematic.
Having performed at Melbourne Fashion week, Isla introduced Australia to her music by way of a dreamy music video clip that was shot half in the famed Ferntree gulley forests and a Melbourne underground bar, using circus performers, actors and high fashion models.
The song Hawkmen quickly garnered attention internationally, after featuring in Netflix and Spike Lee's series “She's Gotta Have It.” And the song appeared on Popsugar's “must listen” lists.
Drawing from her experiences and observations both at home and overseas, her songs form a beautiful balance of escapism and true stories. Her musical influences include Jaymes Young, Banks, Jack Garratt, London Grammar and Sia. She creates landscapes that evoke images of oceans and underwater worlds, as well as worlds far off in the Universe.
Learning production and other instruments, Isla writes and produces all her music as well as for other artists and film/tv.
Isla has performed live at the Crown Casino Showroom, Athenaeum Theatre, the iconic Chapel off Chapel, Canada's Cityfest and Fashion TV's F-club in Singapore, just to name a few.
