Jose, more often known as Lito, had always been different. Growing up in San Diego, California, he saw the world through a lens of rhythm and melody. His parents, hardworking immigrants from Mexico who never finished school, encouraged Jose's passion for music, even if they didn't fully understand it.
From a young age, Jose was captivated by drums. He spent hours practicing, creating beats, and experimenting with rhythms. His parents supported him by buying drumsticks, enrolling him in music programs, and proudly attending his performances.
In high school, Jose's talent began to shine. He began to rap and over instrumental versions of popular songs and would upload them to Snapchat. Incorporating his rhythms and flows from his experience as a drummer into his cadences and melodies, he noticed that people were enjoying his talent. He decided to attempt recording so that he could create full length professional songs.
Jose began making music on computer programs like GarageBand, and as his skills grew, he transitioned to an industry-standard software like ProTools. This opened new creative avenues for him, allowing Jose to produce sophisticated, polished tracks that resonated deeply with his audience.
As his career progressed, Jose's music continued to evolve. He collaborated with other musicians and shared his work online, building a dedicated following. Despite his growing fame, he never forgot where he came from.
