Çağdaş Yapıcılar decided to find a genuine signal by his solo project “IZAA’’.
IZAA comes from an ancient Turkish word, meaning “expressing aloud”
In the first single ‘’Yorgun’’ (in Eng: Weary) merely dark, deep, electronic sounds lead the way and his passive-aggressive drums join. He finished the whole song structure during the pandemic period in Istanbul and sent it to a ‘’stranger’’: ILÆY- a singer&songwriter living in Prague. They met and connected through the song, sharing the same feelings remotely. She wrote the vocal melodies and lyrics in Prague during the lockdown.
The lyrics spread the message sometimes smoothly sometimes aggressively, yet the core message is sole: The world is drained and weary. Physically and mentally. And it’s only a despaired effort to find a relief in this colorful chaos. The journey is tough, sometimes fully unknown and alone. Yet the internal sparkle, the flowing breathe will keep on whispering: “Stay awake, stay aware.’’
Mix: Anıl Çifter
Mastering: Ömür Öztürk
Album cover: Yiğit Keskin
