2024 has been quite the remarkable year for
J A G U A R G O D. Kicking off the year with the debut EP 'E X C E S S D E A T H,' a debut sold-out show, and various supports including Religious Observances and Ghostsmoker, and a SA Music Award nomination. J A G U A R G O D have also managed to find time to write, record and release the debut full-length ‘C O R R U P T / / C T R L,' five tracks clocking nearly 50 minutes.
The multi-faced first single, '<a href="spotify:track:5lPJwDUx05iV3IeaIePnH7" data-name="Revenge [I] [II] [III]">Revenge [I] [II] [III]</a>’ takes the listener through various moods of anger and oppression. Vocalist/Guitarist Karl Roberts explains, “We’re ruled systematically with laws that protect the super elite. We are manipulated to believe that any human could be an “other/not one of us”, pushing that via media to sensationalise and radicalise the general population to fight each other while they move behind the vale to take everything. “ This is general vibe for the record. Oppression. Government rule. The "sometimes glimmer" of hope. The glaringly obvious wrongdoings by governing bodies across the world. JG aren’t a political band. They’re just saying what everyone is thinking and feeling. Their music captures this. It’s heavy. It’s desolate. It sends you somewhere else. Your gateway is here
