Born in 2003 in Porto, J-Dot set his sights beyond borders by making music in English, aiming to represent Portugal on the European hip-hop scene. He started recording in 2018 during his freshman year of high school, but his defining moment came in 2020 when he promised, “If we get sent home for quarantine, I’ll come out of it with an album.” That promise became Last Day of High School (2021), a self-recorded mixtape capturing the highs, lows, and friendships of his youth.
While pursuing a degree in design, music took a temporary backseat, but J-Dot never lost sight of his goals. His studies in design and marketing were strategic — equipping him with the skills to craft his own artistic vision and expand his reach. More than just an artist, he’s building himself into a one-man label, overseeing every aspect of his career.
Blending aesthetics, storytelling, and raw lyricism, J-Dot’s music is a time capsule of experiences — honest, introspective, and evolving. With his return in motion, the vision hasn’t changed — only sharpened.
