Kidd was born in the small town of Decatur, MS. He started writing poems and indulging in the art of hip-hop around the tender ages of 15 and 16. Shortly afterwards, he realized he had an uncanny ability to turn his feelings into poetry.
It did not take Kidd long to realize his poetry had a voice; however it did take him a while to find that voice. He nurtured his talents through inspirations such as 2pac, Outkast, No Limit, the Hot Boyz, and other various artist of that era. He shared this passion and love for music with a few close knit friends in the community. J-Kidd and these friends formed a group and begin to write and record songs together. They later bought equipment to create and in-house studio and coined themselves as @D3. The group recorded under the indie label Get Ya Mind Rit Entertainment and made multiple mixtapes and albums.
D3 had a high success rate in local and surrounding areas, but has yet to find their big break. Despite this, Kidd has never let go of his passion for writing. He still stays up wee hours of the night jotting his thoughts down but his focus is catered towards spoken word and books. He recently published his first book entitled "Black Bold Beautiful But Still Not Free." It can be found on Amazon and ordered upon request in your local book store. In his free time, he can be found at spoken word venues among many other talented artists performing and selling his books and apparel. Visit his website iKidduNot.Net
