Born in Jacksonville, Fl J Lyrik began his career as an artist and writer at the young age of 12 when he wrote his very first song "My First Love" which was his rendition of Usher's "My Way". But through everyday life and growing, music was easily placed on the back burner focusing more on athletics like the rest of his family. Shortly after high school he then went off to join the United States Army, and that is when J Lyrik was born! Constantly being volunteered to lead cadence when marching in the Army as well as performing The National Anthem on most ceremonial occasions is when he started to be recognized as the "Sanging Soldier". Not shortly after being stationed in Alaska is where J Lyrik met the people who changed his life forever. Anchorage, AK is where he met long time friend, songwriter, producer, and artist Twaun. But back then he was J Lyrik's superior SGT Fambro. Though Twaun was his superior the mutual respect has always been the forefront of their friendship which is when the two discovered their mutual passion for music. Before meeting Twaun he met long time friend Zachary Leighton and God brother William Ford. They were the first to push J Lyrik to record his first studio song and take his music seriously. He recored an original cover to Chris Brown's "Don't Judge Me" titled "Don't Forget Me", which he released on a mixtape titled "I'm Just A Sanga Vol. I" on datpiff.com. 6 Projects, 5 singles later, J Lyrik is certainly making his imprint on the game.
