An American singer-songwriter and record producer based out of the New York and South Florida metropolitan areas, J. Paris is known for his ability to create memorable and diverse sonic landscapes through melodramatic expression of personal and universal life experiences.
Paris's style is remarkably raw yet undeniably suave which awards him the unusual ability to candidly express traditionally guarded sentiments, emotions, and feelings in a way that is both exceptionally resonant and uniquely appealing. Albeit being far from Toronto, Paris’s stylistically woeful undertones paired with smooth delivery elicits comparisons to modern influences including the likes of Drake, The Weeknd, and Roy Woods.
Over the years, Paris's growth has been indisputable as he has continued to follow his motto of "Don't get upset, get better," creating projects in parallel alignment with his progression at Princeton — first with his Freshman EP, "Elephant in the Room," moving to his Sophomore and Junior mixtapes "Apologies For Breaking Your Heart" and "NO SECOND CHANCES," and culminating in his senior EP, "Summerset," and his first album, “Road to Elysium.”
With the follow-up to his Summerset series, in “Summerset, Vol. 2,” Paris works to display the other side of what he does best in his artistry by peeling back his usually elaborate soundscapes to its most raw elements. Joining Paris on this journey will be tense, rewarding, and, hopefully, inspirational.
