Single Statement
Thank you to Bolo and Lucky. My brothers from the 916; keep working through the winter. Show some love and support to their pieces. You
To continue the love story from “Stay Mine,” I present “Winter Games.” This single is centered around the current season and the emotional developments that arise when we’re alone. Sometimes our past comes up to teach us new things. When we meet new people romantically, we can feel the remnants of old love, which can impede our growth with that new person. Your thawing heart can long for this new flame, but your mind has to recognize patterns and protect you. If all you’ve known is infatuation and never true romance, you begin to feel threatened and on edge, waiting for the ice to break. This gridlock can create confusion; the most natural response is to avoid this uncomfortable feeling. At that moment, you must slow down and reflect on your current position in the game. Let go of your attachment to the outcome. Let go of control and fear.
I appreciate you taking the time to listen and experience the winter with me. I wrote the song intending to have it in this niche style. Each line a reflection of the raw passion and questions we ask ourselves within the entanglements of love. The repetition of lines hammers in the persistence of these thoughts that leave you in limbo about what move to make next.
Ideal listening experience: late night, low light, mood right, open mind, & lyrics in sight.
Enjoy :)
