Although music has played a huge part in Jaaku's childhood, it was 2009 before he first dipped his toes into music production. On a holiday in Scotland, with only a radio and Pete Tong for company, Jaaku heard Reboot's "Enjoy Music" - and the rest is history.
Years passed before Jaaku finally found his sound. In early 2017, Jaaku's "Zoltan" - described as a slow euphoric techno track with tamed distorted synths - received support from Kölsch on his BBC Radio 1 Residency. "Zoltan" subsequently featured on Jaaku's debut EP "The Journey".
"The Journey Part II" and "The Journey Part III" were released by DMT Records based in Montreal. Elements of Part II were used in a short film production by Alisa Javits called Pour toi / For You.
Now, Jaaku is part of a new record label: 5302 Recordings. Created and curated by Dom Kane, 5302 Recordings brings together artists who are blurring the boundary between visual and musical art. The label serves as the perfect platform for future releases.
Jaaku will continue his journey, and hopes to meet you along the way.
