We are three members at the core of Jab Jab: Wayne Stoute, Andre and Ross Whiteman. We are originally from the Caribbean countries of Trinidad and Grenada, currently residing in Montreal, Canada. We've recently changed our name to JAB DJAB because the name Jab Jab is a very common one in Caribbean culture. The Jab Jab is a devilish carnival character, daring and mischievous, and 30 years ago when we decided on that name, no one else was using it. Not today! So here we are, playing music based on the Caribbean sound with inluences from other styles to a certain extent. You will hear brassy instruments and the occasional steel drum in our songs, along with bass, drums, guitar and keyboards. Our sound is melodically appealing, rhythmic, and infectious. Each one of us has his listening preferences: Brazilian, Jazz, Rock and more, but together we all rush to see Salif Keita of Mali whenever he appears in concert. Otherwise, with the three of us in the same room there could be a cacophony of sounds with Andre blasting Bryan Adams, Wayne trying to keep up with Weather Report, and Ross with his vintage Brazilian Bossa Nova. In the recording studio we take a disciplined approach and deliver our brand of Caribbean based songs - now under the new name of JAB DJAB (same pronunciation). Recently released under the new name, is an album SPIRIT MOVE YA! and a single MASALA.
