Jack Glimpse

You find yourself driving home from the beach at 3 a.m. with a group of friends. They need sustenance, they demand Denny’s. Your mind races, palms begin to sweat, a subtle rage over takes your thoughts as you remember the last time you went to such a place. You used your last EIGHT DOLLARS for a friend to buy themselves a Grand Slamwich, they still have not paid you back four years later. As your friends ask what's wrong you lie, and say nothing but deep down you know, you know what they've done in the past. Have they changed? Did they bring their wallets? You frantically search for music to calm your nerves, skipping artist after artist. Finally you find a song by Jack Glimpse. You nervously click, and are suddenly swept away in a wave of pure joy. You see clearly now, your life is minuscule in comparison to the vastness of the universe, all your worries and doubts are for not. You whisper to yourself “I get it” as your friends look at you in worry, you hit the gas, going 100mph on the back roads to get to Denny’s. Once arrived, everyone sits down, looking for their wallets, but to no avail. You say “I got it”, and pay for everyone's grand Slamwich.
