Walking out of the mists of a forgotten year, Jack O’Rourke has reimagined his place in the Irish music landscape with Wild Place. Jack has approached this new collection of songs with a sense of abandon, opening himself in some of his most emotionally raw songwriting to date. Jack writes about the wildness of love, nature, and healing in a changing world in a folk, blues and ballad idiom with the piano and his voice at the centre.
“Melodies are in abundance, with O’Rourke effortlessly spinning out tune after tune with no fear of them running out. The man is also a gifted lyricist. O’Rourke is able to succinctly express and/or mix fact and fiction.”
Tony Clayton Lea, The Irish Times ****
