You know how the story goes. It always seems to be a smalltown girl or boy who has known from a young age that music was their calling. We won't bore you with the details, but Dresden, Ontario's, Jacklyn Wills, follows a similar narrative.
From performing at local festivals, events, and establishments to sharing songs and stories at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee, and even warming up the stage for acts like Sloan, The Reklaws, and Corb Lund (just to name a few), Wills already has an impressive list of accomplishments.
After spending the past couple of years performing wherever and whenever she can, getting into as many writing rooms as possible and learning all of the ins and outs of the industry, she has dubbed 2024 as the year to "do the thing" and has made her way into the studio.
Introducing "Hate That I Can't Hate You." Co-written over Zoom in February 2023 with Ali Dutton, produced by Adam Newcomb, and released a year later, this catchy country bop will have you singing along in no time.
After meeting country music icon, Kelsea Ballerini, at a Nashville bar in the spring of '23 and bonding over sparkly eyeshadow, it was only fitting that Wills' debut single took on a similar style of the artist she has admired from a young age.
"Hate That I Can't Hate You" is just the beginning for this rising star. Buckle up and get ready for a year filled with more live shows and a whole lot more music.
