Maybe you lived it. Maybe your parents did. Maybe you've seen it in movies... If you’ve experienced the 1980's, you miss it. "Love like 1983" is a polaroid snapshot of the the way things used to be. In the time of AI, many of us have wistful affection for yesteryear, even if some long to know it for the first time.
Love like 1983 speaks to the universal nostalgia for a simpler time. Released this September, the song remembers hand-written notes, faded jeans and John Cusack films, the later of which is nodded to by Bradley in the album cover as she boldly holds up a boombox.
“To me, the 1980’s were my childhood,” said Bradley. “My grandparents were alive, we played outside for hours and everyone knew their neighbors. I wanted to capture the essence of that beautiful time in "Love like 1983 "and I’m so happy and honored to be a part of this musical collaboration that shares not only a song, but a feeling.”
Bradley is known for her work on Vh1, MTV, Bravo, HGTV, The Voice of Holland, Ireland’s Got Talent, and several films. She led the largest study in history to bring live music into the operating room (published in The Journal of Clinical Oncology) and is currently owner and director of Rock Town Music Academy in her hometown of Lorain, Ohio, voted best music instruction in the county.
“I hope this song will bring good memories to those who listen, and help us all to move forward with an authenticity that still can be true if we let it,” says Bradley.
